At our meeting on November 7th, Marlys indicated that she had been asked if we could use the traditional Lord’s Prayer. It was discussed that several of the setting’s use the alternative format. For several months now, we've been switching between "Our Father who art in heaven" and "Our Father in heaven" with the change of liturgical season. During Easter season, we asked to be forgiven our trespasses; during Pentecost we've been asking to be forgiven our sin. For the liturgical seasons of Advent and Christmas, we'll use the King James version, "Our Father who art in heaven."
The committee also discussed the Saturday evening service and recommend that the Saturday Services end before Thanksgiving. The Council met on November 20th and considered this recommendation as one order of business. The vote to accept/decline this recommendation was tied 3-3 and the motion was tabled until the December meeting in the hope that more council members will be able to attend.
